Direct‐Drive wave energy conversion with linear generator: A review of research status and challenges

Ocean wave energy is sustainable and renewable energy, conversion (WEC) effectively solves the disadvantage of traditional power system with fossil energy. WEC generation process that converts kinetic undulation swing into electric direct-drive (D-DWEC) directly by linear generator to improve efficiency. At present, research has characteristic interdisciplinary, multi-system integration, engineering application, commercial operation. This paper summarizes types, principle, classification system, mainly focusing on aspects kinds characteristics generators used in D-DWEC post-processing, control methods. end paper, giving development trend challenges technology, ocean complementary platform offshore wind, solar analysed. It shows advantages owing stable output, efficient utilization, saving-space, cost reduction.
